Holy Trinity History

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Holy Trinity began services in Belgrade in 1994 when First Lutheran in Bozeman started a second service in Belgrade rather than Bozeman. This was a great move for those members living in Belgrade and it was hoped that they would also be better able to reach out to the community.

At the beginning, space was rented at several locations. That changed on October 1996 when First Lutheran became the proud owner of the former Belgrade Baptist Church at our present location. On September 8, 1996, this building was dedicated to the glory of God and for the benefit of His people. Pastor Gross and Pastor Mitchell were serving both congregations at this time.

Holy Trinity incorporated in the State of Montana on August 24, 2001 and was taken into membership with the LCMS on May 19, 2002. Pastor Bruce Linderman was called and installed March l6, 2003. A few months later, a plan to align with Grace Lutheran in Three Forks was conceived. The idea took hold and the dual parish was finalized.

Moving Together in Faith

Vision for the Future: Our congregation has directed the building committee to come up with options for the future expansion of our Church facility. This meant adding seating capacity, upgrading obsolete plumbing and electrical system, and enhancing the outward appearance of our Church.

The building committee has developed a two phase plan. The fellowship hall and kitchen will be moved upstairs and the Sunday school rooms moved to the basement. The outside facelift will entail a new entry, siding and roof design.

Phase two consists of adding onto the south and east sides. This will add office space, rooms for storage, and remodeled bathrooms. It will increase the sanctuary and allow easier access from the fellowship hall. The open courtyard will be absorbed into the building. Many thanks to all the dedicated people who brought us from that first service with 43 people attending, to where we are at the present. May God bless you all.
